Jack's Got You Covered ...

Hello, everyone! My name is Jack and I'll be blogging around these parts from now on, keeping you up to date with what's new on the streets of the Upper East Side. If there are restaurants opening or closing I'll be here to let you know. If new stores pop up or old UES institutions head elsewhere, I'll keep you updated. And if anything else interesting happens in the neighborhood, I'll be here to make sure you know about as soon as possible. Hopefully I'll be able to keep you informed and up-to-date on all the happenings, big and small, that make the Upper East Side what it is. Also, it's not just my opinion that counts- drop by in the comments section and let me know what you guys see happening on the streets and what you think we should be talking about. Thanks!

With that in mind, let's check out what's new on the street. I'll start with a couple small tidbits on a little place I like to call Second Avenue....

Walking down Second Avenue last night I discovered this new Japanese restaurant, called Sato. It just recently opened, and features authentic Japanese fare at pretty affordale prices. The restaurant's flagship location is in Queens, hotbed of international cuisine, and the location here on the UES is their first foray into Manhattan. Located at 1395 Second Avenue, b/w 72nd & 73rd.

Upper East Side clothing boutique Pookie & Sebastian is having a January sale. Women, make sure you get there quick, and men, don't worry, there are multiple bars on the block in case she just can't decide what she wants. Also, if you live further down on the UES, Pookie & Sebastian has just recently added a location at 1069 Third Avenue, between 62nd and 63rd. Beware though shoppers, winter hours means they close early at 8 PM. Located at 1488 Second Avenue, b/w 77th & 78th.
